February 2015
We have had two great meetings to start off the calendar year with good crowds so let’s try and keep up the pace. We had hoped to get a drive in on the third weekend of the month but it does not seem like the weather wants to cooperate so we will try and get it in a week later. Let’s just hope that the weather starts cooperating soon so we can do a little cruising after having the cars sitting up for a few months with very little driving. After all, Corvettes do not like to get out in the bad weather. We are still in the process of collecting our annual dues so if you have not sent yours in the sooner we get them in the sooner we can put this chore in the rear few mirror. The Navy’s Blue Angels will be performing in Tuscaloosa, AL the third week in March. We will be discussing this at the next meeting to see if we have enough who want to go before planning it.
Our new meeting locations seem to be going well. It was a little noisy at Berry’s Fish and Seafood House but the lady told me it was beyond her control but promised if we would come back she would ensure we got in a private room. We have some more on the horizon and will still use a few of our old favorites. We are already working on some drives for this year and just have to put dates on them. If you have any ideas for drives or places to meet please let April Owens know so we can check them out.
It is not too early to be thinking about our annual MS Corvette Classic. Once again it will be held indoors at the Jackson Convention Center Complex. The date for the event this year will July 11. We have changed our sponsorship for the event to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi. You can go ahead and start soliciting items for our silent auction. We plan to have our posters complete, printed and ready to start putting out by the first of March. Hopefully we will have some at the next meeting.
